With over two decades of diversified experience in the finance industry, Hattem has successfully navigated two distinct career paths.
His journey began in 2000 as a finance professional, where he sharpened his skills in various finance roles, primarily within esteemed multinational organizations.
In 2015, he transitioned to a freelance career, offering his expertise as a financial consultant and trainer. This path led him to join Kaplan as a Finance trainer, delivering B2B training to business and governmental entities in the region; covering Finance and Investment topics such as Financial Accounting & Analysis, Financial Modelling, Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting, and Capital Budgeting.
His academic accomplishments include earning the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 2005, obtaining a CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance in 2014, and completing his MBA from Manchester Business School in 2017; in addition to RIFS from CISI, and IPSAS Certificate from ACCA.
These credentials, coupled with his extensive professional experience, enable him to provide insightful and impactful financial training and consultancy.

Rahul Sonthalia is the Commercial Director at Kaplan Professional MENA, with over 19 years of experience spanning investment banking, equity research, macroeconomic analysis, and learning & development.
He leads the design, implementation, and delivery of market-leading learning
solutions across the GCC, working closely with clients to align programs with their strategic goals, emerging skills needs, and talent development priorities.
Rahul oversees a portfolio of large-scale learning initiatives for banks, sovereign wealth funds, and government entities – covering domains such as finance, digital transformation, leadership, and ESG.
As a seasoned trainer, Rahul has delivered programs in the UK, Singapore, and across the MENA region, specializing in financial analysis, equity valuation, and advanced financial modelling.
He has been a guest speaker at the ModelOff Global Financial Modelling
Championship in London, sharing best practices in modelling and analytics.

Preparing for the CMA certification typically takes six to nine months. The Kaplan MENA training programme includes over 65 hours of interactive classroom or live online sessions per exam part. You will also receive an interactive exam planner to help structure your daily study time and stay on track for your target exam window.
Kaplan MENA provides learners with the official IMA-approved Gleim CMA study materials. Your course includes access to over 3,000 practice questions, dedicated essay scenarios, and full mock exams. You will also use real-time performance metrics to diagnose your strengths and weaknesses prior to the final exam.
We offer three flexible delivery formats. You can choose interactive classroom training at our Dubai and Abu Dhabi centres, Live Online sessions delivered virtually by our full-time faculty, or a Self-Study package that provides you with exam-focused learning materials and bite-sized pre-recorded videos to study at your own pace.
